Horses for Lease
Zia Park has a variety of well trained and experienced horses and ponies. Many are competition horses and pony club or adult riding club mounts.
Would you like to experience horse ownership but feel unable to make the long term commitment of time and expense just yet? Zia Park offers clients the opportunity to lease one of our horses or ponies at a fraction of the cost of buying and agisting. We have horses and ponies to suit any level of rider and all of our horses and ponies are available for part lease.
Horses are leased in 12 week blocks, and lessees can renew as often as they like, leasing the same or a different horse or pony. The minimum time period for a lease agreement is 6 weeks. The cost is $120 per week. Zia Park retains the right to use the horse or pony for up to 3 hours per week and up to 5 days during each school holiday.
Clients receive full use of the horse or pony; this may include attendance at pony club, adult riding club, shows and gymkhanas if appropriate. Float hire or horse transport can be arranged. All expenses, such as agistment, feed, veterinary expanses, farrier, worming are paid for by Zia Park. The lease includes all saddlery and rugs.
One 50 minute group lesson or 1 half hour private lesson per week is included. Attendance at lessons is a requirement of the lease. If you are interested in leasing one of our horses or ponies, please contact us.

Bindii is a 13 year old 14 hh stockhorse mare. Bindii is a top games pony, she was overall the second placed PCAWA games pony in WA last year. Bindii also does dressage (somewhat reluctantly) and is a confident jumper. She is fantastic in the bush and is best suited to a confident rider as she likes to go! BINDII IS CURRENTLY LEASED |

Danny is an 18 year old 15.1 hh Arabian cross gelding. His forte is jumping, he was the overall winner of the 90 cm show jumping class at the Summer Series at the State Equestrian Centre two years ago. He is also well schooled on the flat, has competed at the Interschools, and is a great ride out. DANNY IS CURRENTLY LEASED |

| Fritz is a 14 year old 15.2 hh stock horse gelding. He is very well trained on the flat and over jumps and is a favourite with many of our riders. He is a good trail riding horse and we often lead other horses from him. Before he came to live at Zia Park, Fritz had competed in campdrafting and polocrosse and has been to many shows and events. |  |

Jess is a 15 year old 12.3 hh Welsh pony mare. She is a very well performed dressage pony. Jess won Champion Novice pony at the Associate Dressage Championships at the State Equestrian Centre this year. She has done many years of pony club and is competent over show jumps and cross country jumps. Jess is quiet but like all ponies, she can be naughty if she thinks she can get away with it! She is best suited to a confident child who wants to compete. JESS IS CURRENTLY LEASED |

Minty is a 20 year old 13.1 hh Welsh pony gelding. He is a very experienced pony club mount who has been in the Musical Ride at the PCAWA dressage championships many times, as well as games, jumping and eventing competitions. Minty is good at teaching riders how to use their legs as he can be a bit lazy.

Missy is a 9 year old 15.1 hh Standardbred mare. She is a comfortable ride and is learning how to jump. She is quiet enough to participate in mounted games and is a popular horse for trail rides.

| Banjo is an 18 year old 15 hh Standardbred gelding. He has been a wonderful pony club mount in his day and likes to swim in the lake. He is a great bush riding horse, very quiet and comfortable. We only use Banjo for trail rides now, so he is best suited to someone who just wants a sensible horse to take for long rides. |  |

| Rosie is a 5 year old 13 hh Welsh cross mare. She is learning how to jump and do dressage and all the other things that riding school ponies need to be able to do. As she is still young, we only use Rosie for our more experienced riders at the moment. Rosie has been to pony club and will make a wonderful all rounder when she grows up. |  |

| Buddy is an 8 year old 15.2 hh Standardbred gelding. He is obedient, sensible and comfortable to ride. Buddy likes to jump and is a good trail riding horse. He is well schooled for flat work. He has been to pony club and suits riders who want to attend pony or adult riding club, or someone who just wants to have lessons on a nice horse. |  |
| Silver is a 22 year old 12.3 hh Welsh pony cross. He is the old man at Zia Park and the best at teaching beginners the ropes and doing pony rides. In his prime, Silver was a much loved pony club mount who excelled at jumping and games. |  |
