The year is almost at an end and it’s time to look forward to a great 2019. We’ll start off with 3 dedicated adult clinics, covering three different themes. Check out more info below and head to the bookings page to secure your spot. We hope to see you there!
Weekend of 12/13 January (AM only) – Dressage & Showhorse
You will learn how to navigate your way around a dressage arena, how to ride accurate figures, memorise a test and perform it to get the best work out of your horse and how to achieve the best score you can for your level. You will learn how to present yourself and your horse for show horse competitions, how to ride the perfect workout and we'll have some fun in a Zia Park show horse competition. We always modify the content of our courses to suit the experience of each group, so don't worry if you're a beginner, you will be able to participate in everything at camp. If you’re an experienced rider, you will practice test riding with a qualified dressage judge to assess and fine tune your performance.
Weekend of 19/20 January (AM only) – Poles, Showjumping & Cross Country
You'll learn to ride correctly and safely with good balance and control in 2 and 3-point position, to navigate a course of obstacles at the appropriate height for your skill level and confidence, and will practice riding at a nominated speed around a cross country course. We modify the content of this program to suit the experience and skill level of riders in each group, so don't worry if you're a beginner, you won't miss out on anything. If you’re an experienced rider, there will be plenty to challenge you in this clinic!
Weekend of 26/27 January (AM only) Groundwork & Trailriding
Groundwork is used to train respect for and confidence in the handler and is an excellent tool for desensitisation and for observing horse behaviour and learning styles. Trail riding is an enjoyable and relaxing way to see nature and the countryside from the back of a horse. You'll learn the different types of saddlery we use for trail riding, how to maintain safe distances, how to read horses' body language for safety, etiquette on the trail, control of the horse in the open, how to look ahead for things that might scare your horse and how to cope with the unexpected. Beginners and experienced riders will all benefit from and enjoy this program. Riders will be grouped and the content tailored to suit the level of experience and confidence of each group.
