Come and try Working Equitation!
Our Working Equitation Training Show is designed as a fun introduction to this fascinating sport, which is still relatively new to many riders in Australia.
Working Equitation is all about harmony between horse and rider and showcases good training, confidence and versatility. For this training show we will be running two phases:
Dressage – similar to the dressage tests you are already familiar with.
Ease of Handling (EOH) – this is the obstacle phase and, for many people, the really fun part! Think riding over poles, around barrels, ringing bells, picking things up and stepping into water. Horse and rider complete a course of obstacles as calmly, accurately and stylishly as possible. The course will contain between 8 and 15 obstacles chosen from the official Working Equitation obstacle list, ranging from very simple exercises to more challenging ones.
You do not need to have done Working Equitation before. This is a training day and your Zia Park coaches will be here to help you every step of the way. Our aim is for horses and riders to have fun, gain confidence and finish the day with a much better understanding of Working Equitation.

Entry options
Riders may enter:
Dressage + Ease of Handling at their chosen level; or
Dressage only, with the option of riding one or two dressage tests.
To take part in the Ease of Handling phase, riders must also complete the dressage phase. It is not possible to enter Ease of Handling on its own.
